Student Policies

DCU Code Of Conduct

Every aspect of the believer should reflect awareness that he or she is a representative of the Kingdom of God. Therefore, it is expected that all students will avoid practices and forms of entertainment that may be detrimental to their Christian witness and/or spiritual growth. Our students agree to comply with the following "code of conduct", which will be strictly adhered to:

  • Recognize and follow the authority of God's Word in all areas related to personal conduct and moral standards.
  • Maintain a strong desire to walk in the "fruit of the Holy Spirit".  Maintain a strong desire to serve God by serving their fellow man.
  • Attend all classes as scheduled in a timely manner.
  • Pay tuition within the required time limits (no transcripts will be released until all fees are paid in full).
  • Purchase all books and materials within 3 weeks of start of class.
  • Complete all homework assignments in a timely basis.
  • No children allowed.
  • No food allowed in the classrooms or sanctuary.
  • All students are required to exercise discipline and self control at all times.
  • Disruption of the class will not be tolerated.
  • Disrespecting authority of the administration and instructors will not be tolerated.
  • Any instance in the life of the student that is deemed Biblically immoral or unseemly by the Dean or President may be considered as grounds for immediate dismissal.

Attendance

Regular and punctual attendance is required at all class sessions and scheduled exams. Students, who for personal or medical reasons find it necessary to request a leave of absence from the university, may do so in writing to the Destiny Christian University Advisory Board or Chief Executive Officers. Request for re-admission must be made to the Destiny Christian University Advisory Board and or Chief Executive Officers.
Any student arriving 20 minutes after the class has started will be considered absent and must purchase the tape for the class. Students are required to attend every class. A person missing a class will have unsatisfactory attendance and will be required to purchase a tape or CD for each and every missed class. After two absences, the student must see the registrar to be placed on the correspondence list and will be charged up to an additional $100.00 for DCU, or student could be required to retake the class at the student’s expense.

Childcare

There is no provision for childcare. Therefore, students are required to find alternate provision for childcare. It becomes a distraction and an added responsibility to others when children are left running through the building unattended. This is also unfair to other students. We appreciate your cooperation.

Homework

All homework must be turned in when required by the instructor. After completion of term, students who are missing assignments will be given an incomplete (0). Students who need extra time to finish homework due to unforeseen circumstances may request an extension by contacting all instructors in writing. If work is not completed by time given for extension, a grade of fail will be given and the class must be retaken.
Third-, fourth- and seventh-year students must complete all assignments in the Fourth Term by sixth week and be current in all financial commitments and academic requirements in order to graduate.
Students must contest a grade of Incomplete (0) within 10 days of receiving the grade so as to avoid losing all credit for that class. Any class work not completed by the end of the following term, will result in a permanent Incomplete (0). The class must be retaken in order to receive a grade. Arrangements can be made to take the class by correspondence or the student must wait until the class is available in-house.
Destiny Christian University offers no placement assistance to its students or graduates.
